Enhanced Rail: No new trains in peak periods
A quick note for rail fans: you might expect that the "enhanced rail" option will mean you'll travel to work on brand new trains. Not so, it would appear:
"Tranz Metro has advised that they intend to operate refurbished units on the line during the peak periods and new units during off-peak periods. During peak periods the new units would be used on other parts of the network where they are required for longer routes."

4 Comments:
The "refurbished units" are still going to be a lot better than the current english electric rust buckets, which will be scrapped.

True.
No guarantees that all the buses will be new.
"Existing buses can be retro-fitted with the guide wheels for continued operation"

They don't need to be - they're about 40 years younger than the trains.
Admittedly, my original point was a minor one. Just that, amidst all the talk of new trains, most J'Ville line users won't even get to see them.
